My point exactly!
Our Sick Chick Picnic last weekend was, well, a picnic in the park! We had a great spread of yummy foods, including anti-inflammatory cherries, cold sesame noodles, cucumber sandwiches (probably inflammatory, but oh well), greek salad, sausage and cheese, chocolate chip cookies (definitely inflammatory) and more. It was delicious, and once again, so great to sit and talk with others going through a similar experience.
Though I'm heading to Baltimore next month and will be starting another Sick Chick Club down there, Jodi, Dianna and Kat are going to keep the NYC chapter going, so if you are in the area, come on by the next event!
If you are interested in starting your own, here's how you can find people in your area.
On another note, my relocation to Baltimore is completely taking over my life. I'm really sorry if I end up neglecting you all for a bit, but I promise that once I'm installed in Baltimore and back from my upcoming trip to Egypt and Jordan (post forthcoming), I will be able to resume proper attention! Please bear with me....my whole life is about to change!
All photos complements of the talented Jodi McKee. See more of her pics at flickr. She's working on a portrait project capturing RA RA's, so stay tuned!
PS: you can't tell from the photo, but I'm wearing a sassy RA tee complements of Arthritis Friend that reads snarkily: My immune system attacks itself; what does yours do?
That looks fabulous and what a gorgeous day for Central Park! I'm so glad you all had a great time...just bummed I couldn't be there too! :)

Rebecca- I know! I wish we could have a bi-coastal sick chick club somehow!
M- :)
RA Guy- we had gorgeous weather. It was New York City at its finest: blue, cloudless skies, warm but not humid, and a nice, effortless breeze.
Jodi- was so great to see you and hang out again!
Becky- thanks...and yeah, the T shirts Sheryl made are great! I also have one that says F Arthritis. Indeed!

Great post with great photos of women with obviously great attitudes. For some more inspiration, I invite you to check out this short video -- ahamoment.com/pg/moments/view/5495 -- about the “aha moment” of a woman with RA that changed her outlook on life. I think you’ll enjoy it and hope you’ll also check out the rest of the site, which was created by Mutual of Omaha to highlight inspirational stories, good works, and “aha moments” of all kinds.
Best,
